Country House, Bedfordshire

The owner of this country house has been redecorating “Room by Room.” The redecoration of this bedroom required some build work as well as refurnishing. An existing window that had been sealed up many years ago was re-opened and the furniture layout was reworked. To make the most of the bay windows and views of the garden beyond the windows were dressed with dramatic dress curtains, shaped pelmet and working curtains that were set across the full reveal. One or two antique items of furniture were retained and integrated into the new scheme.

The client wanted to make more of the incredible ceiling height in this room so the corona and drapes were added to emphasise the sense of scale. The antique mirrored bedsides and lamps were added to tie in with the antique screen.

This existing loo needed an update. The original sanitaryware, which is full of character, was retained and new feature wallpaper was added as well as the pelmet and roman blind.
